NHTI – Concord’s Community College (NHTI)

17 High Street, Plymouth, NH

About
NHTI - Concord's Community College, located in Concord, New Hampshire, was founded in 1965 and was known as New Hampshire Technical College. The school has grown over the years, adding more programs and expanding its facilities, resulting in a name change in 2008 to reflect the school past and current focus: NHTI - Concord's Community College. The school is located in the center of the state's capital, serving over 4500 students, both credit and noncredit, annually. The school is dedicated to providing students with an excellent education, and has a history of upgrading programs, services and facilities in order to meet changing community needs and standards.

Academics
NHTI - Concord's Community College offers a variety of programs that result in an associate degree, certificate or diploma. Students will be able to choose the program of study that best suits one's career or academic goals. Career and technical programs provide students with an education in a given field, providing the knowledge, training, and skills, necessary to operate as a professional in that field. Programs typically take between one and two years to complete, resulting in an associate degree, certificate, or diploma. Students enrolled in such a program will participate in experience building practical courses alongside more traditional educational courses. Graduates may seek employment immediately after graduation, though some fields may require certification or licensure.

Academic transfer programs are designed to facilitate the transfer to a four year institution after the completion of the freshman and sophomore years of a bachelors degree. Transfer to a public New Hampshire college or university is made easier through agreements in place with KCTCS schools. Students wishing to transfer to a private or out of state school should meet with a counselor to outline a curriculum that best meet that school or schools transfer requirements.

Programs of study include:

Additionally, the school offers a number of short programs, distance learning options, and continuing education courses that allow students to pursue additional educational opportunities through flexible schedules or for professional necessity. Students enrolled in individual courses or in short programs are generally ineligible for financial aid.

Admissions and Financial Aid
As an open enrollment institution, applicants who meet NHTI - Concord's Community College's minimum requirements for admission may enroll upon submission of the application. Students must supply  previous transcripts and standardized test scores. Additionally, new students are encouraged to participate in orientation and meet with an academic counselor. Registration for courses starts prior to the each semester with tuition due shortly thereafter.

Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants, and scholarships. Students in need of financial assistance must obtain a Federal PIN and submit a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the resulting student aid report (SAR) from which will be used to determine a student's financial needs, program eligibility and monetary awards. Students must reapply for financial aid prior to the start of each academic year, and may be required to provide additional information to ensure the accuracy of the SAR before the disbursement of funds may take place.
