History

The George Washington University was founded in 1821 as "Columbian College" through an Act of Congress. About
Quincy University, located in Quincy, Illinois, was founded in 1860 by Franciscan monks from Germany, calling the school St. Francis Solanus College. The school received its official charter in 1973.
