About
Assumption College is a Catholic post secondary institution founded in 1904 and located in Worcester, Massachusetts. When first established the school was dedicated to educating French immigrants and residents to become leaders in their New England communities. During World War II the school suffered a massive decline in enrollment due to nearly all students enlisting in the military. The school was kept afloat financially through increased enrollment in the preparatory school it operated. Davenport University, located in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, was founded in 1866 by Conrad G. Swensburg, a union veteran of the civil war. The school was known as the Grand Rapids Business College, but went through a number of name and located changes over the next five decades. By 1910 the school was set to close its doors due to waning interest and financial difficulty, and saved through the efforts of a new teacher by the name of Michael E. Davenport. Mr. Davenport rounded up the remaining members of faculty, managed to keep the school open, and over nearly three decades operated the school as president and oversaw a turnaround of the schools educational offerings. Since that time the school has several presidents, each contributing to the expansion and refinement of the schools offers. Arkansas Tech University, located in Russellville, Arkansas, was founded in 1909 by the Arkansas General Assembly. Originally known as the Second District Agricultural School and offered the equivalent of a high school education. Students wishing to enroll at Arkansas Tech University must supply a completed application, transcripts, standardized test scores, and proof of immunization. The history of Cox College goes back to the founding of Burge Deaconess Training School for Nurses in 1907. Downey Adult School, located in Downey, California, is a public institution that provides local residents various training and education opportunities. Los Angeles based InfoTech Career College is now part of Healthcare Career College (HCC).  The school offers vocational health care training featuring small class sizes and instructors with real-world work experience.  The College is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE).  Today vocational schools like InfoTech are increasingly being required to disclose information useful to potential students such as average loan debt, total cost, and placement rates.  InfoTech has an institutional placement rate of 83% across its career training programs for the most recent reporting academic year. Canton City Schools Adult Community Education is a well-organized and managed learning institution that is found in Stark County, Ohio. American College of Health Care now has two campuses in California – Riverside and Huntington Park.  ACHC was founded in 1993 and in 2009 came under new ownership.  The school offers 6 career training programs in the health care field:

Tuition and fees for the Surgical Technology Program as of January 10, 2013 were approximately$32,600.  ACH reported a 73% placement rate for program graduates.  Cost of the Pharmacy Technician Program was about $16,500 with a 75% placement rate.  The other programs had placement rates ranging from the 80% range to 100% for the Medical Administrative Assistant Program.

PCI College, located in Cerritos, California, is a private institution offering educational opportunities in information technology and health care.
