American Advanced Technicians Institute (AATI)

American Advanced Technicians Institute (AATI) is a school in Hialeah, Florida that focuses on teaching students about automotive technology. AATI was founded in August of 1995. At that time, instructors used the facility as a private tutoring institute. Every year, thousands of students learn about automotive work in the school's 6,200 square foot space of labs and shops.

Students can choose between taking courses in automotive technology and specializing in repairing transmissions. The automotive technology program trains students for an entry-level position in the automotive industry. As for the transmission repair program, it is meant to train students who are already working in the field. Some of the courses available include:

  • Engine repair
  • Brakes and ABS systems
  • Suspension, steering and alignment
  • Electrical systems

The American Advanced Technicians Institute will only accept students who have earned their high school diploma or GED. Applicants must be at least 17 years old and have visited the school before. In fact, the school will only accept applicants who have toured the facilities. During their tour, applicants must sit for an interview with the admissions officer.
