History
Trident University International was known as TUI University when it was founded as a branch of Touro College, New York in 1998. TUI is an online university accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is the only 100% online institution to have to have done so. TUI serves students of all types from all regions and has become known for its large number of military students who seek postsecondary education. Approximately 80% of their student population is from the military.

Trident University International offers bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in a variety of programs and considers itself a leader of quality online education. 90% of professors at TUI hold PhDs and are required to do hands on research at least once a year.
