Craven Community College, located in New Bern, North Carolina, is a public two year institution founded in 1968, though the elements of the school began earlier through the Lenoir Community College's Craven Industrial Education unit. At its founding the school had a total enrollment of 700 students, which has grown to nearly 4000 full time students and 25,000 continuing education students today. The school is one of the 58 schools that comprise the North Carolina College System.
Academics
Craven Community College offers programs that result in certificates, diplomas or degrees. The programs are either for transfer or career training. Career training programs prepare individuals by developing the skills and providing the knowledge necessary to obtain work after graduation. Program length varies based on the program, with certificate and diploma programs taking less time than a two year degree.
