Lakeview College of Nursing, located in Danville, Illinois, was founded in 1894 to provide a nursing education for the region. The school was the only such institution in the area for nearly 30 years. Over the years the school has changed and adapted its curriculum and offerings. Originally a part of the Lakeview Medical Center, the school separated when the center was sold. In 1989 the school replaced its initial nursing program with a bachelor's of nursing program. The school also offers courses in Charleston, Illinois through a building owned by the school.

The BSN program offered at Lakeview College of Nursing requires students to have a minimum of 45 semester hours from an accredited college or university through the prerequisite courses listed in the schools site.
