The University of New Hampshire School of Law, located in Concord, New Hampshire and formerly known as the Franklin Pierce Law Center, was founded in 1973. The founders of the school designed the curriculum as such that students studying would learn how to think like lawyers and know how to practice law. The school offers a variety of educational resources and opportunities to law students including a 15:1 student teacher ratio, semester long externship programs in particular fields of law, and a practice based alternative to the BAR exam through the Daniel Webster Scholar Honors Program. The school promotes an atmosphere of openness, dialogue and exchange of ideas between students, peers and faculty.
Academics
Though the school offers a limited selection of law degrees, the degrees themselves can be focus on a particular concentration. By focusing on a concentration, the student will utilize externship opportunities, elective courses and other aspects of the education provided to build upon the chosen concentration.
