Child Care Training

The child care program at Angelina College prepares students for jobs with social service agencies, public schools, private schools, head start programs, pre-school programs, and day care centers. The program focuses on the management of child care services and planning, designing, and managing child care. Program courses include: child development and psychology, home and institutional based child care, identification of diseases and injuries, parent relations, personnel and business management principles, and related laws and policies. Angelina College (AC)

Angelina College located in Lufkin Texas combines quality education and an overall pleasant student experience. AC offers many associates degrees including certifications, workforce programs and applied sciences degrees as well. Angelina College has over 25 clubs and other student organizations, and is well known throughout Texas and the country for its Fine Arts and Theatre program.

There are currently over 5000 students enrolled at AC, which includes several off campus teaching centers. AC provides a high quality and affordable education that service 12 counties across East Texas.

When it comes to tuition costs, Angelina College provides one of the lowest costs in education, compared to 50 Texas community colleges across the state. Financial Aid is available at AC along with Pell Grants, more than 200 Scholarships, their very own Angelina Challenge Award, state grants and rotary loans. The cost to attend AC is $110 per 1 credit hour for in-state residents, $175 for out of district students, and $260 for those students coming from out of state.

The extracurricular activities at AC are plentiful, and the college has plenty of clubs and social activities to keep a student’s life well occupied. Angelina College also has an extensive Special Student Support Service that provides help to single parents with children under the age of 18, single pregnant women, those with language disadvantages and students with disabilities.

Angelina Community College is also home to an impressive Adult Education Cooperative – offering adult learning centers for those wishing to continue their education or just improve on work skills.

Description

Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, day care center, or other child development facility. May be required to hold State certification.
