The school originally operated through the Centennial High School but moved to its Coon Rapids Campus in 1967. The school has grown very large over the years, requiring the addition of a second campus in 1978 and new buildings at both locations throughout the years.

Students wishing to transfer to out of state or private institutions will have to meet the varying requirements for transfer of those schools, as such it is recommended they meet with a counselor to develop a curriculum that best meets the student's desired school or schools requirements.

Career training programs provide students with the skills and abilities necessary to enter the workforce in their desired field of study and expertise. Students will take a combination of classroom, theoretical and practical courses that allow for the development and application of methods and ideas in simulated and controlled settings in order to gain experience and training for real world applications.

Students will earn a degree or certificate that demonstrates competency and is earned after one to two years of study depending on the program. Graduates of such programs may seek employment at the entry level as qualified individuals.
