Augusta Technical College, located in Augusta, Georgia, was founded in 1961 when it was known as Augusta Area Technical Vocational School. The school merged with Richmond Technical school five years later, then expanded its offerings over the next two decades, becoming Augusta Technical Institute in 1987. By 2000 the school had grown again, requiring a name change to better reflect its role in the community  and its offerings, taking its current name. The school is dedicated to providing a quality education to residents of its service area and students from afar, providing an atmosphere of growth and success while preparing individuals for profitable and successful career. As an open enrollment institutions, any student wishing to enroll at Augusta Technical College will be admitted upon completion and submission of the application for admission, as well as provide all relevant transcripts and information. Students may be asked to take an assessment exam for basic skills prior to registration to determine which courses they will enroll in. Description

Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners. Monitor patient safety and comfort, and view images of area being scanned to ensure quality of pictures. May administer gadolinium contrast dosage intravenously. May interview patient, explain MRI procedures, and position patient on examining table. May enter into the computer data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry.
