Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC)

Baton Rouge Community College, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, began operations in 1995 and opened its doors in 1998. The school formed as a result of the Justice Department's finding that racial segregation continued in Louisiana's post secondary education. A law suit followed resulting in two decades of legal battles. The settlement of the case called for the establishing of a community college which became BRCC. Since its establishment the school has grown, offering state of the art services and facilities for its students and expanding its educational offerings to meet the needs of the community. The college enrolls nearly 8000 students per year, with enrollment expected to increase in the future.

Academics

Baton Rouge Community College offers associate degrees and certificate programs for career and academic advancement. Academic programs fulfill the first two years of a four year education and allow for transfer to a four year university to pursue a bachelor's degree.
