The communications program at Canada College prepares the student to enter the fields of advertising, marketing, organizational communication, public relations, publishing, human resources, law, criminal justice, politics, public administration, and more. The program focuses on the scientific, humanistic, and critical study of human communication in a variety of formats, media, and contexts. Cañada College offers a diverse culture and helps students prepare for the modern workplace and the interconnected world that we live in. It is located in Redwood, California. The Bay Area is an excellent place to live and study. San Mateo Junior College developed a 25 year master plan and a $5.9 million bond was approved to build the college. This plan lead to Canada College being built in 1968 which was the result of a $12.8 million bond approved by voters in 1964.Cañada College is an affordable option for earning an Associate’s degree and is an excellent stepping stone to attending a four year college in the area. Tuition is $46 per unit for local residents and non-resident tuition is $208 per unit. Cañada College students who earn their AA-T or AS-T degree are guaranteed placement in the California State University system. Transfer students are giving junior standing at a four-year college.
Cañada College is currently helping many adults earn their degree. The college started the College for Working Adults in 2011. This is an outstanding way for working adults to earn a degree by attending class one evening a week and on Saturdays. Cañada College offers an Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) which help disadvantaged children succeed in college. Plus the college offers help with child care and meals for single parents.
