Clinton Community College

8 Clarkson Ave, Potsdam, NY

Clinton Community College (CCC) is located in Clinton County, in Plattsburgh, New York, at the site where the historic Hotel Champlain once stood a hundred years ago. CCC is affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY), which affords students seeking a degree, as well as students expecting to transfer to a four-year university, the opportunity to get the education they’re looking for.

CCC’s mission is to enrich students’ minds by providing educational opportunities that allow students to help strengthen the economy and improve the quality of life in the community.

Diplomas and degrees are awarded at CCC through courses in the following subject areas:

  • English
  • Business
  • Humanities
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • Nursing and Healthcare

CCC offers 19 AA, AS, and AAS programs in the above subjects, as well as 7 certificate programs. Class sizes are small, which afford students the opportunity to have a close relationship with professors. CCC also offers flexible course options, such as daytime and evening courses, in addition to their online courses.

CCC believes in their students and offers support services, such as childcare, counseling, career services, disability services, as well as tutoring, for those students in need.

There are several ways to apply to Clinton Community College. Students can apply online through a webpage on CCC’s website (http://hpweb.clinton.edu/launch_admissions.html), by downloading the CCC admissions application and following the instructions, or by using the State University of New York (SUNY APC) (http://www.suny.edu) application. There is a $40 fee for the SUNY application method, but applying this way allows a student to apply to 4 separate SUNY colleges on one form.

Students will also need to have their high school or college transcripts (if applicable), a completed FAFSA application, and immunization records. Students may also be required to take placement tests. In-state students will need to complete a certificate of residency to receive in-state rates. Disabled students will need to speak with a learning resource specialist (http://www.clinton.edu/Admissions/Content-Staff/uid/ddb2799c-b9dc-4109-82ab-cf5fa18d48ca/gid/20/email.cml).
