About
Clovis Community College, located in Clovis, New Mexico, was founded in 1961 as a branch campus to Eastern New Mexico University. The school was built in conjunction with Clovis Municipal Schools in order to bring post secondary educational options to the area. The school was given its current campus in 1978, where it experienced a high amount of growth in both surface area and student enrollment. The school was voted by local residents in 1990 to be given local controlled independent community college. Though the school operates independently, it still maintains a close relationship with Eastern New Mexico University.

Clovis Community College offers a variety of programs dedicated to assisting in academic transfer or career development. Academic transfer is accomplished by completing the first two years of a four year education at CCC, followed by applying for transfer to a four year institution to complete the final two years and earn one's bachelor's degree. Students applying for transfer to a public New Mexico institution, particularly Eastern New Mexico University, will have an easier time transferring based on agreements in place the facilitate or guarantee admission if certain prerequisites are met.

Career and training programs provide students with the skills and abilities necessary to enter the workforce as qualified professionals. Students will study in both classroom settings, and if necessary, in controlled environments where skill development is supervised by a qualified instructor. Such programs take between one and two years to complete and result in a certificate or degree that demonstrates one's competency in the chosen field. These programs are typically reflective of community needs and are introduced in part by the schools' dedication to local workforce development.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Clovis Community College is a public, two year, open enrollment institution that allows any individual seeking a post-secondary education to enroll as long as they meet the minimum requirements for admission. Applicants must supply a completed application, transcripts and test scores, as well as pay all accrued fees. Students may also be required to take a placement exam prior to registration. The school encourages meeting with a counselor to discuss goals, program enrollment and curriculum. Participation in student orientation is also encouraged in order to familiarize oneself with the school and campus.

Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships. Students in need of financial assistance must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the information from which will be used by the school to determine the extent of one's needs and aid program eligibility when constructing a financial aid packet. Aid must be reapplied for prior to the start of each academic year. Students may be chosen at random by the school to supply additional financial and tax information to be cross checked with the FAFSA prior to the disbursement of funds as part of new federal regulations governing aid programs.
