Coastal Bend College, located in Beeville, Texas, was founded in 1965 and was originally known as Bee County College and was established through a vote that established the Bee County Junior College District. The school supports nearly 4000 students annually through a variety of programs and services that offer academic and professional options for individuals of all ages. The school serves multiple counties in whole or in part through campuses located in Beeville, Alice, Kingsville and Pleasonton.

CBC is an open enrollment institution, and as such admits any individual over eighteen years of age or having a high school diploma if they complete the application, pay all fees, and submit transcripts and test scores if available.
