Columbus Technical College

Columbus Technical College, located in Columbus, Georgia, was founded in and 1961 and was originally known as Columbus Area Vocational-Technical School and was a part of the Muscogee County School District. The school was merged with Muscogee Area Vocational-Technical School in 1965, resulting in an expansion of the latter's campus as the new home of the combined institutions.  The school experienced growth and expansion over the following years, and in 2000 was renamed Columbus Technical College due to changing legislation that allowed associate degree institutions to be called colleges. The school is one of thirty four in Georgia that are part of the Technical College System of Georgia.

Columbus Technical College provides education and training in a number of high demand fields for the purposes of long term employment for students after graduation. The education provided lays a foundation for individuals to build upon through experience and on the job skill development and training.
