Paralegal Program
The paralegal degree program at Cumberland County College teaches students to perform legal research, as well as drafting, investigatory record-keeping, and other administrative functions related to the legal system. Cumberland County College, located in Vineland, New Jersey, was founded in 1966 and was the first county college in the state to open its own campus. The school is dedicated to providing the residents with the best education possible, having over the years expanded its campus and offerings to meet the needs of the community. The addition of facilities and services alongside continued review of programs to ensure that they are up to date means the school can provide a high quality education that meets and exceeds the needs and expectations of the modern student.
Academics
Cumberland County College offers over 90 programs that allow students to obtain career and technical training or to pursue academic transfer to a four year institution. The variety of programs allows for flexibility of choice, giving students the opportunity to pursue the track that best reflects his or her goals. Career training programs provide students with the skills and abilities necessary to become professionals in the workforce. Students will obtain theoretical and practical education in their field of study, learning to apply methods and techniques to real world settings over the course of one to two years, earning a certificate or degree that allows for employment opportunities at the entry level.
Academic transfer programs provide education and study that qualifies as the first two years of a four year education. Upon completion, students will apply to a four year institution to continue their education and earn a bachelor's degree. Transfer to public New Jersey institutions is facilitated through the agreements in place that allow guaranteed admission to graduates that meet certain academic requirements. Transfer to out of state or private institutions will have separate requirements.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Cumberland County College is a public, two year, open enrollment institution that allows any individual to enroll. To do so one must complete and submit the application for admission and the pay the tuition fee. Enrolled students should provide transcripts and test scores, and it may be necessary for students to take a placement exam prior to registration. Students are also encouraged to participate in new student orientation to familiarize themselves with the campus and to meet with a counselor to develop a curriculum and discuss educational goals.
Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships. Students must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the information from which will be used to determine need and program eligibility. The school will provide the student with a financial aid package which may be used to pay for tuition, books, and other fees. To maintain aid, students must maintain a strong academic performance and reapply for it prior to each academic year.
