Medgar Evers College – CUNY (Medgar)

In 1969, Medgar Evers College was established as the senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY). It was named after Medgar Wiley Evers, a civil rights activist known as the man of the Mississippi. Located at 1650 Bedford Ave. Brooklyn, NY 11225, MEC is committed to meeting the educational and social needs of the Central Brooklyn community as it empowers the students to achieve life-long success and positively contribute to the community. 

MEC boasts for its world class resources and highly qualified professors that allow it constantly respond to the changing global and economic needs. It is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education while its academic programs are registered by the New York State Department of Education. 

This college offers Certificates, Bachelor's and Associate degree programs in nearly 100 major areas of study under the School of Business, Liberal Arts & Education, and Science, Health & Technology. Evening and weekend classes are available for selected courses in liberal arts, education, social sciences, math, sciences, and business.
