Dakota College at Bottineau came into existence in the year 1906 as the North Dakota School of Forestry. Since then the College has grown by leaps and bounds. The college aims at providing education which is a blend of care and quality. Also, apart from the technical knowledge, the college also values diversity and personal enrichment.

The Dakota College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and School. The 35-acre campus of Dakota College at Bottineau finds its location at the northern edge of the city of Bottineau. Within the premises of the college are - classroom buildings, residence halls, a student center, and an administrative building. The library is a member of ODIN, - the Online Dakota Information Network. Within the library one can find a huge storage of over 36,000 volumes, in addition to a wide variety of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual periodicals.
