Dodge City Community College, located in Dodge City, Kansas, was founded in 1935 and operated out of a high school for 22 years before the enrollment had grown large enough to receive its own campus. The school was given a local school board as part of the state's legislation to make community colleges answerable to the citizen's they serve. Responsibility for Dodge City Community College was given to Dodge County through a unanimous vote. The school is dedicated to providing residents of the community with post secondary education opportunities. The school is also commonly referred to as DC3 and DCCC.
Academics
Dodge City Community College offers a variety of programs that allow students to pursue academic transfer or career training opportunities. Academic transfer programs allow students to complete a curriculum that mirrors the first two years of a four year education, followed by transfer to a college or university to complete the final two years and earn a bachelor's degree. Career training programs provide education and skill development in a high demand field for industry with the intention to prepare students for a long term career in that field. Programs take between one and two years to complete and result in a degree or certificate upon completion.

DCCC is a public, two year, open enrollment institution that allows any student to enroll once they have submitted an application for admission and paid all fees. New students are also asked to provide transcripts and test scores, as well as be prepared to possibly take a placement exam prior to registration. The school also encourages participation in new student orientation and meeting with a counselor prior to their first semester. Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships and is awarded based on need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which should be submitted in a timely fashion.
