East Central College is a public two year institution located in Union, Missouri, and was founded in 1968 to serve the residents of its designated service area. The school maintains four campuses in addition to the Union Campus, which are located in Sullivan, Rolla, Washington and Warrenton. The school enrolls near 4500 students annually, and has seen steady growth in both size and enrollment since its founding. The school is dedicated to providing a high quality education, constantly reviewing programs, services and facilities to meet and exceed the needs of current and future students.

Academics

East Central College offers students' choices for their future through programs designed for continuing one's academic career or pursuing career options through training. Academic transfer is accomplished by completing the first two years of a four year education followed by applying for transfer to a four year college or university to transfer earned credits, complete the final two years, and earn a bachelor's degree. Individuals applying to certain public colleges or universities in the state of Missouri will have eased or guaranteed admissions based on agreements in place between the schools. Students applying to out of state or private schools should meet with a counselor to discuss and develop a curriculum that best meets the varying requirements of one's desired school or schools.

Career and technical training programs provide an education in a specific field of, providing the skills and education necessary to enter the workforce as a qualified professional. Preparation and training takes place over two years, requiring students to take tradition classroom and practical courses. Practical courses allow individuals to learn skills and techniques unique to their field of study through supervised training by professionals. Upon completion students will receive a degree or certificate that demonstrates competency and assists in employer confidence when seeking employment.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Any individuals interested in enrolling at East Central College may do so through he school's open admission policy that allows any person who completes an application and pays all accrued fees to enroll. If available, students should supply transcripts and standardized test scores. Individuals may also be required to take a placement exam prior to registration. New students are encouraged to participate in orientation to familiarize themselves with the school, as well as to meet with a counselor in order to discuss program enrollment and curriculum.

Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships. Students in need of financial assistance must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the information from which will be used to determine need and aid program eligibility when developing an aid packet.
