Ellsworth Community College was founded in Iowa in 1890 as a private business academy. Over the years the school has seen many changes, including being coming a four years institution, music conservatory, and public junior college until it finally merged with the Iowa Valley Community College District.
ECC is the only Iowa Community College to rank in the top thirty by The Washington Monthly. The campus is situated along the Iowa River and is within walking distance of downtown Iowa Falls. The campus is scenic, a mix of historic and modern buildings and facilities surrounded by nature.
Academics
Ellsworth Community College offers career and transfer programs. Students choosing to transfer to a four year degree will pursue an associate's degree in the arts or sciences.
