Computer Programming Degree

Flint Hills Technical College, located in Emporia, Kansas, was founded in 1963, was given associate degree granting status in 1995, the Kansas Board of Regents became the coordinating body for the school at the state level in 1999, and the school became autonomous from the Emporia School District in 2005. The goal of the school is to provide educational opportunities to the residents of its service area for personal, professional and academic growth.

Academics

FHTC offers 19 programs of study along with several short term training programs and continuing education courses. The student to teacher ratio is approximately 15 to 1, and a large portion of the program curriculums are based in lab work for practical experience. About 94% of FHTC graduates find job placement after graduation.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Students interested in enrolling at FHTC must complete the application in full and submit all the necessary education records, including transcripts and test scores. Student will then be asked to take the ASSET placement exam if they do not have applicable ACT test scores. Once completed, students must pay all fees prior to the first day of class. FHTC offers a variety of financial aid option including local scholarships and federal grants and loans. Web Developers

Description

Design, create, and modify Web sites. Analyze user needs to implement Web site content, graphics, performance, and capacity. May integrate Web sites with other computer applications. May convert written, graphic, audio, and video components to compatible Web formats by using software designed to facilitate the creation of Web and multimedia content.
