About

Front Range Community College, located in Westminster, Colorado, is the first and largest community college established by the State Board of Community Colleges and Occupational Education. Originally the north campus of the Community College of Denver, in 1968 the campus was renamed and established as a separate entity by the state board. Over the years the school has expanded its campus, classes and services. FRCC became one of the first schools in Colorado to offer online education. Enrollment has grown very quickly requiring FRCC to expand the campus and open satellite locations in nearby area. The school is dedicated to providing a quality education to its students by constantly reviewing and updating its programs, services and facilities, adding new ones if necessary to meet student needs and evolving community and industry standards.

Academics

Front Range Community College offers a number of academic transfer and career programs allowing students to pick the one that suits their goals. Academic transfer programs complete the freshman and sophomore years of a bachelor's degree at a significantly lower financial cost. Once completed students may apply to a four year institution of their choice to finish their degree. Students should meet with an academic advisor to plan their curriculum to better prepare them for the school or schools they plan to apply to.

Career programs take between one and two years to complete, resulting in a degree or certificate that demonstrates that a student is qualified to enter the workforce in their area of study. Such programs provide the skills and knowledge necessary to operate as a professional, utilizing a mixture of classroom education and practical courses to provide experience in a working environment prior to graduation. Career programs often reflect the needs of the community, particularly in high demand fields.

Admissions and Financial Aid

FRCC maintains an open enrollment policy that guarantees entry into the college as long as the student is at least 17 years of age. Applications can be completed online or printed then the submitted via mail to the school. Once submitted a student should participate in orientation and meet with an advisor to outline their goals and curriculum. Registration typically takes place just prior to the start of the semester, with tuition due shortly thereafter.

Financial Aid is available to eligible students. To begin the process of determining eligibility students should visit the financial aid office and meet with a counselor.  Students must provide financial information as well as complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which will result in a student aid report used by the school to determine need, eligibility, and award.

Clubs and Organizations

Clubs and organizations are available at all campuses at Front Range Community College, though clubs are unique to each campus. Such clubs provide students the opportunity to explore new interests or to develop existing ones by meeting other individuals who share them. Clubs and organizations provide students a method for socializing outside of a classroom environment. Clubs and organizations may promote cultural development, academic growth, or pursue entertainment or other interests. Students may also pursue the founding of a new club if the school does not have one that covers one's interests.

Description

Demonstrate and teach patient care in classroom and clinical units to nursing students. Includes both teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of teaching and research.

Registered Nurses

Description

Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Licensing or registration required.
