Georgia Highlands College is an outstanding educational institute located in Rome, Georgia. Now the college is offering a Bachelor of Science in nursing with more bachelor degree programs planned for the future. Georgia Highlands College is popular for many reasons which include affordability, accessibility, location, student/ teacher ratio, and a hands-on learning experience. The college offers access to higher education. It was founded in 1970 as a part of the Georgia university system. Georgia Highlands College operates six colleges in Marietta, Dallas, Rome, Cartersville, and Douglasville. In 2011, the college was approved to become a state college and now offers baccalaureate degree programs. A Bachelor of Science in nursing will be the first degree offered.
Currently over 5,500 students are enrolled in the college from eastern Alabama and Georgia. The college employs 133 full-time faculty members.
Georgia Highlands College offers many outstanding transfer programs. The Associate of Arts degree is offered in English, political science, journalism, sociology and communications. Students can obtain an Associate of Science degree in education, agriculture, associated dental sciences, biology, business administration, computer information systems, chemistry, economics, general studies, geology, health information management, medical technology, mathematics, nursing, pharmacy, physician’s assistant, respiratory therapy, and physics.
The college is focused on providing affordable tuition to everyone. Grants are available to lower the cost of attending Georgia Highlands College. Full-time tuition for Georgia residents is $1,298 per semester. Out-of-state tuition is $4911 per semester.
