About
Rowan College at Gloucester County was formerly known as Gloucester County College.  RCGC is located in Sewell, New Jersey. It began operation in 1966 through the approval of its charter by the department of education.

The school initially gave instruction through facilities at Monongahela Middle School and Deptford Township High School.  They completed construction on its first building in 1970. Over the years additional buildings and facilities have been added to the campus to meet academic needs and enrollment demands.  RCGC is a comprehensive two year institution dedicated to providing the best education possible for residents of its service area.

Academics
Rowan College at Gloucester County offers a number of programs aimed at providing students the option for career development or academic transfer. Career training programs allow students to obtain the skills and abilities necessary to become professionals in their chosen field.

This accomplished through a mixture of theoretical and practical courses that provide a forum to perfect methods and techniques used in a simulated real world setting. Programs take between one and two years to complete, resulting in a certificate or diploma that demonstrates the student's competency in the field.

Academic transfer programs allow students to complete the first two years of a four year education, followed by transfer to a four year institution to complete their bachelor's degree.

Transfer is accomplished through the submission of an application, and each school will have separate requirements governing the policies for transfer of credits and admissions. Students are encouraged to meet with a counselor to outline a curriculum that best fulfills the requirements of the student's desired school or schools of transfer.

Additionally the school offers a variety of services and courses for adults, particularly continuing education courses for professionals in need of renewal courses for certification or licensure, and adult education courses for individuals wishing to complete a high school level education.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Gloucester County College is an open enrollment institution that allows any individual who wished to enroll to do so if they meet the minimum requirements for admission, submit a completed application, and pay all incurred fees.

Students should submit previous transcript and standardized test scores if possible and be prepared to possibly take a placement exam. New students are encouraged to participate in orientation to become familiar with campus life, as well as to meet with counselor to discuss program enrollment and curriculum.

Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants, and scholarships. Students in need of financial assistance must submit a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the information from which will be used by the school to determine a student's financial needs and aid program eligibility.

Students must be enrolled in credit programs to be considered for aid,. Financial aid must be reapplied for prior to each academic year. Students may be chosen at random to supply additional financial information to be compared to the FAFSA in order to verify its accuracy as per new federal regulations governing financial aid.
