Culinary Arts Program
The culinary arts program at Hocking College prepares students for a career as an executive chef, restaurateur, food and beverage manager, food writer, research chef, or a culinary educator. The program focuses on cooking related services in restaurants and other commercial food establishments. Program courses include: recipe and menu planning, preparing and cooking foods, supervising and training kitchen assistants, managing food supplies and kitchen resources, food presentation, and a variety of cuisines and culinary techniques. History
Founded in the 1960's in Nelsonville, OH, Hocking College has grown from a vocational school into a large 2 year college. The school offers certificate and degree programs, and is the only 2 year public institution in Ohio to offer dormitory living for students. Hocking has established sister colleges in multiple countries, has multiple campuses, and operates the Lake Snowden Education and Recreation Park.
