Jamestown Community College, located in Jamestown, New York, was founded in 1950 and was the first community college in New York State. The school operates four campuses located in Jamestown, Dunkirk, Olean, and a fourth site in Warren, Pennsylvania. The school is a member institution of the State University of New York System. The school has grown from an initial enrollment 169 students to over 3500 annually.

Jamestown Community College is a comprehensive community college that provides transfer and career training opportunities through its many programs. Academic transfer is accomplished by completing a curriculum that mirrors the first two years of a bachelor degree program, followed by applying for transfer to a four year institution in order to complete the final two years and earn a bachelor's degree. Career training and vocational programs provide an in depth education in a given field or industry that prepares individuals from entry into the workforce as qualified professionals. Programs take between one and two years to complete and result in a degree or certificate.

Jamestown Community College is an open enrollment institution that allows entry for any individual that completes the application for admission, pays all fees and is a high school graduate or 18 years of age or older.
