Johnston Community College was established in 1969 in Smithfield, North Carolina. The school offers vocational, technical and continuing education programs to over 17,000 students a year. JCC operates multiple campuses throughout Johnston County in the form of learning centers, a workforce development center, and a 2,800 acre wildlife preserve. Academics
Johnston Community College offers certificate, diploma and degree programs at the associate level. Students may enter one of many career training programs that provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to immediately enter the workforce after graduation, or they may complete an associate program for transfer, fulfilling the freshman and sophomore years of a four year education, and enter into a four year institution as a junior working toward the completion of a bachelor's degree. JCC also provides evening courses to assist those who require more flexible scheduling.
