Joliet Junior College

Joliet Junior College (JJC) has the privilege of being America’s first public community college. Founded in 1901, JJC had six students that year. Today, it has three campuses and three education centers in Joliet, Romeoville, Frankfort and Morris, and enrolls over 15,000 students every year.

JJC boasts a string of famous alumni, such as: John Cornelius Houbolt, who promoted the Lunar Orbit Rendezvous which was key to man’s moon mission in the 1960s; Curtis J.
