Kennebec Valley Community College

Kennebec Valley Community College, located in Fairfield, Maine, was founded in 1969 through the approval of the Maine Legislature. The school began operations in 1970 to a class of 35 full time and 131 part time students.

KVCC has since expanded both physically and in term of enrollment, with a current annual class size of over 2,500 students. KVCC is dedicated to providing quality education to its students through up to date programs, facilities and services. The school is one of the seven colleges the comprise the Maine Community College System.

Academics

Students may choose from a variety of programs that allow for academic transfer or assist in career training. Academic transfer allows student to complete the first two years of a four year education at KVCC, followed by transfer to a four year institution to continue their education, complete the final two years, and earn a bachelor's degree.

Career training programs provide the education necessary to develop skills and abilities necessary to enter the workforce as a qualified professional in a given field. Kennebec Valley Community College is a public two year institution whose requirements for admission are minimal due to its open enrollment policy where any individuals that apply, pay fees, have a high school diploma or are 18 years of age or older may enroll. Students should also supply test scores, transcripts, and take a placement exam if deemed necessary.
