Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, located in Andalusia, Alabama, was formed in 2003 through the merge of two previous institutions, Douglas MacArthur Technical College and Lurleen B. Wallace Junior College. The merger combined the resources of the two schools, forming a single multi campus college with locations in Andalusia, Greenville, and Opp. The school serves the counties of Butler, Crenshaw, Coffee, Covington and Geneva. The school put forward a development plan upon merger to update services, programs and facilities to meet increased enrollment and educational needs.

Academics
Lurleen B. Wallace Community offers programs that provide academic transfer or career training opportunities. These programs are designed to meet the needs of the community and provide students the opportunity to pursue their goals. Career programs develop the skills and abilities required to perform as professionals. Programs take between one and two years to complete and result in an associate degree or certificate. Students may pursue employment at the entry level after graduation. Programs for academic transfer complete the first two years of a four year education then allow for transfer to a four year institution to complete a bachelor's degree. Individuals are advised to meet with a counselor to plan the curriculum that best fulfills the transfer requirements of the school or school's desired.

As a two year open enrollment institution, any student wishing to enroll at Lurleen B. Wallace Community College may do so through the submission of an application. Students should supply test scores and transcripts, take the placement exam, participate in orientation and meet with a counselor. Tuition fees will be due shortly after registration is complete.
