About
Massachusetts Bay Community College, located in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts, was founded in 1961 through a charter by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The school moved to temporary locations in Boston and Watertown over the next decade until finding a permanent home, the former location of Elizabeth Seton High School. By 1990 a second campus was formed, followed by a technology center in 2001 and a wellness center in 2003. The school has experienced steady growth over its 50 years of operation and continues to plan for the future, approving plans for development and betterment of the school and its programs.
Academics
MassBay Community College offers programs that assist in career development or academic transfer. Career programs provide education in an area of study, providing the skills, training and experience necessary to operate professionally in a work environment. Graduates of such programs are qualified for entry into the workforce immediately, and will receive an associate of science or certificate to signify that they are qualified. Academic programs fulfill the first two years of a four year education and award an associate of art degree. Upon completion students are eligible for transfer to a four year institution to complete their bachelor's degree. Individuals may also take non credit courses to participate in classes that satisfy their personal interests.
