About
Mercer County Community College, located in West Windsor, New Jersey, was founded in 1962 as a merger between Trenton Junior College and the newly established MCCC. The school was given a 292 acre located to house its facilities and offer students comprehensive post-secondary educational opportunities. The campus was officially opened in 1971, initially serving approximately 1300 student.
Since its inception the school has expanded its facilities, offering cultural, technical and other resources to students and residents of the community. Mercer County CC further expanded by opening a center in Trenton, offering residents of the city access to similar services. Today the school serves over 13,000 students a year. MCCC is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
Academics
Mercer County Community College offers a large number of programs to meet the needs of its students and community, allowing them to choose a program that will help them fulfill their educational or career goals.
MCCC has agreements in place with six four-year public New Jersey institutions, allowing for dual enrollment or transfer upon completion of the first two years of a four year education. Students may apply to any four year institution they wish to transfer too, though the public institutions guarantee admission if certain academic requirements are met.
Career programs result in either a certificate or associate degree, demonstrating that the individual is qualified to perform tasks and duties at the entry level immediately upon graduation. These programs provide the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the workforce through a mixture of classroom and practical study, allowing individuals to develop the experience necessary for success.

Admissions and Financial Aid
As an open-enrollment institution, all students interested in enrollment at Mercer County Community College will be admitted if they meet the minimum requirements for admission.
Students must supply transcripts and may be required to take a placement exam to determine which general education courses they must take. Registration begins shortly before the start of a given semester, with tuition fees usually due shortly thereafter.
Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants, work study programs and scholarships. Students in need of financial aid must complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from which the resulting student aid report is used to determine a student's need, eligibility and awards.
Students may also qualify for a HOPE Scholarship, which provides tuition assistance for students demonstrating academic excellence. Students may be asked to provide additional financial assistance prior to the disbursement of funds to ensure the accuracy of the information provided.
