Computer Networking Degree

At MSCC, students are exposed to a learning environment that is innovative and dynamic. The institution serves the community of West Memphis, Arkansas and is located close to the metropolitan area. MSCC cares about their students’ economic development as well as their education and future employment success.

With a population of over 2,000 students MSCC is the largest two year community college in the Arkansas Delta region offering technical certificates, associate degree programs, transfer programs and certificate of proficiency programs.

For students who wish to transfer to a 4-year university and complete a Bachelor’s degree, there are excellent transfer programs available. Some programs are also offered during nights, to help students with families and work.

Mid-South Community College's tuition costs are very affordable and the cost per credit for in-state residents is $90, while the fee for out-of-state residents and international students were $110 and $300 respectively.

Description

Apply knowledge of nursing and informatics to assist in the design, development, and ongoing modification of computerized health care systems. May educate staff and assist in problem solving to promote the implementation of the health care system.

Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. May ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. May respond to computer security breaches and viruses.

Computer Network Architects

Description

Design and implement computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks. Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning. May also design network and computer security measures. May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.

Computer Network Support Specialists

Description

Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. Perform network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
