Welding Program

The welding program at Mid – South Community College prepares students for careers as welding engineers, manufacturing engineers, application engineers, sales engineers, and project engineer or manager. The program focuses on applying technical knowledge and skills to join or cut metal surfaces. Program course include: arc welding, resistance welding, brazing and soldering, cutting, high-energy beam welding and cutting, solid state welding, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, oxidation-reduction reactions, welding metallurgy, welding process and heat treating, structural design, safety, and codes and standards. At MSCC, students are exposed to a learning environment that is innovative and dynamic. The institution serves the community of West Memphis, Arkansas and is located close to the metropolitan area. MSCC cares about their students’ economic development as well as their education and future employment success.

With a population of over 2,000 students MSCC is the largest two year community college in the Arkansas Delta region offering technical certificates, associate degree programs, transfer programs and certificate of proficiency programs.

For students who wish to transfer to a 4-year university and complete a Bachelor’s degree, there are excellent transfer programs available. Some programs are also offered during nights, to help students with families and work.

Mid-South Community College's tuition costs are very affordable and the cost per credit for in-state residents is $90, while the fee for out-of-state residents and international students were $110 and $300 respectively.
