Minneapolis Community and Technical College, located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was founded in 1996 through the merger of two former institutions and is overseen by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System. The two schools were a technical college dating to 1914 and a community college established in 1965. Today the school maintains a campus in downtown Minneapolis that has been renovated, updated and added to in order to expand the offerings of the school. MCTC is a public two year institution and serves approximately 15,000 students annually as well as maintaining a close relationship with businesses and organizations in the Twin Cities in order to assist in cultural and economic development.

Academics
As a comprehensive community college, Minneapolis Community and Technical College offers a large variety of programs aimed at career development or academic advancement and development.
