Missouri State University-West Plains prides itself as the foundation of new beginnings and endless possibilities. It was recognized as one of the top 120 two-year colleges in the nation by the Aspen Institute Community College Excellence Program and was acknowledged as a Military-Friendly School for three consecutive years by the G.I. Jobs magazine.
In 1963 this institution was established as the West Plains Residence Center and consequently named as West Plains Campus of Southwest Missouri State University to its current designation, MSU-WP. For more than four decades, MSU-WP serves as a vital educational resource for the residents of south-central Ozarks region of Missouri and nearby places.
At present, MSU-WP has three campus locations in West Plains, MO, Mountain Grove, MO and Dalian, China. This institution is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of College and Secondary Schools. It continues to provide superb quality education and training as it offers associate of arts, associate of science and associate of applied science degrees and certificates under the fields of Business, Nursing, General Studies and Teaching.
MSU-WP fosters an environment that allows students to realize their full potential and aspirations. Compared to other two-year colleges in Missouri, it has maintained higher retention and graduation rates in the past five years.
