Esthetician Program

The esthetician program at Mitchell Community College prepares the student for a career in a beauty salon, spa, or heath resort. The program focuses on cleansing, depilating, massaging, and beautifying the human body. Program courses include: skin anatomy, principles of nutrition, decontamination and infection control, health and safety, facial and body massage, body wrapping and spa treatments, temporary hair removal, color and skin analysis, client consultation and care, applicable laws and regulations, business practices, and alternative healing regimens. Founded in 1852, Mitchell Community College functions as a higher educational resource for the residents of Iredell County and nearby areas. It is located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Piedmont North Carolina.
