Nursing Program

The nursing program at Mitchell Community College prepares students for careers in hospitals, convalescent centers, clinics, home care, and physician's offices. The program focuses on knowledge, techniques and procedures for promoting health, providing care for the sick, disabled, infirmed, or other individuals or groups. Program courses include: administration of medication and treatments, assisting and physician during treatments and examinations, referring patients to physicians and other health care specialists, and planning education for health maintenance. Mitchell Community College

Founded in 1852, Mitchell Community College functions as a higher educational resource for the residents of Iredell County and nearby areas. It is located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Piedmont North Carolina. 

As a student-centered institution, Mitchell provides opportunities for students to achieve their personal and professional goals. This college offers wide range of programs including Associate degree, Diploma and Certificate, as well as general and continuing education. These programs are designed to meet the objectives of the students whether it is to transfer in four-year institutions, start a career, venture in another field or just to enhance their skills. 

This college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Its Associate degree, Certificate and Diploma courses fall under the following areas of study: Arts and Sciences, Business Technologies, Constriction Technologies, Engineering Technologies, Health Sciences and Public Service Technologies. Continuing Education, on the other hand, include High School programs, Career and College Promise (CCP), Articulated Credits Earned (ACE) program and the Early College program. 

In support of the students, several resources including the Huskins Library, MIND Center and Career Center are available on campus. Numerous activities and events can also be enjoyed by Mitchell students. Moreover, students also have the option to participate in several organizations.
