Focused on its mission to deliver quality learning opportunities, New Mexico State University-Alamogordo serves the south central New Mexico region offering wide range of credit and non-credit courses on campus, online and at Holloman Air Force Base.
NMSU-A campus is situated in the Tularosa Basin surrounded by mountain ranges. This campus started with only few students to now approximately 4,000 students per semester. From the basic two-year university-credited education, this institution now offers technical courses and Bachelor’s degree program through NMSU-Las Cruces Distance Education. These programs serve as foundation for professional career opportunities and transfer to any New Mexico College or University.
Upholding the highest value for excellence, integrity and innovation, NMSU-A strives to provide quality and cost-effective education. Students are engaged in personalized and innovative instructions with a dynamic environment for learning. Moreover, programs and curricula are designed with great flexibility to accommodate diverse educational needs. In fact, 50% of the classes are conducted online and evening courses are also made available.
Through the Holloman Air Force Base Learning Center, armed forces and families are given the opportunity to pursue their educational goals. Aside from this, NMSU-A encompasses Community Education and Contract Training, Professional Development courses, Dual Credit Classes, Abitur Program, Adult Basic Education and GED.
This institution is also a home for the Small Business Development Center, Academic Support Center with exceptional tutoring and student services, and Career Center that guides students in determining and pursuing their educational and career goals.
