Carpentry Courses

The carpentry program at New Mexico State University – Grants prepares students for careers working as carpenters for manufacturing firms, government agencies, retail establishments, and other industries. The program focuses on applying technical knowledge and skills to lay out, cut, fabricate, erect, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures, using hand and power tools. New Mexico State University – Grants (NMSU-Grants)

1500 University Drive, Carlsbad, NM

Located at 1500 third St. Grants, NM, New Mexico State University Grants is one the branch campuses of NMSU along with Alamogorbo, Carlsbad and Dona Ana with Las Cruses as the main campus. The total facility of this campus is 79,197 square feet and it serves the local communities in Cibola and McKinley Counties.

NMSU Grants provides diversity, option and flexibility in its academic services. It is recognized by the federal government as one of the few institutions considered as both Hispanic Serving (Title V) and Native American Serving (Title III) because of its socially diverse population.

This institution offers a complete Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, 17 Associate degrees and 14 Certificate programs and a GED program as preparation for college studies. Also offered at NMSU Grants are other Bachelor’s degree courses designed for students to obtain credits for a 4-year baccalaureate degree and Dual Credit program that gives opportunity for high school undergraduates to earn credits for both high school and college.

To meet the different educational needs of the students, there are online and evening classes conducted at NMSU Grants.Similarly, Student Success and Training Center is offered to support the students and enrich their learning experience. There are also organizations on campus that Grant students may opt to participate in including Associated Student Government, SkillsUSA and Native American Club.
