North Florida Community College

North Florida Community College, located in Madison, Florida, was founded in 1957, when it was known as the North Florida Junior College. In 1966 the school was merged with Suwannee River Junior College, a black community college, after the passing of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The school changed its name to the current in 1995.

The school is part of the Florida College System, which encompasses all of Florida's publicly funded schools. NFCC serves the counties of Madison, Taylor, Lafayette, Suwannee, Jefferson and Hamilton.  NFCC prides itself on delivering a quality education to its service area, providing educational and cultural opportunities to residents of its member counties.

Academics

North Florida Community College offers a wide variety of programs providing vocational and educational opportunities. The school offers diploma, certificate and degree programs in a large number of fields. The programs offered include transfer programs to four year institutions, particularly to public colleges and universities in Florida, and career training programs that prepare students for work in a particular field, readying them for entry level positions after graduation.
