Originally known as trade schools, the system evolved into higher education training for specific fields as demand grew for the type of technical education offered by the system. Northshore Technical Community College operates four campuses, providing coverage to several counties and regions within the state, providing service and assistance related to workforce development to its service area. Admissions
Northshore Technical Community College allows any student who meets the minimum standards for admission to enroll through the submission of an application for admission. The ease of admission is due to the school's role as an open enrollment institution. Interested and applying students should provide all relevant academic information, including transcripts and test scores, as well as alternate degrees such as a GED along with their application. It is also recommended that new students participate in orientation and meet with a counselor to determine which program best suits the student's needs.
Financial aid is available in the form of loans and grants. Students in need of financial assistance are asked to submit a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which will be used to determine the student's financial needs, aid program eligibility and monetary awards as part of a yearly package.
