Nunez Community College

Nunez Community College, located in Chalmette, Louisiana, is a public two year institution formed in 1992 through the merger of the Elaine P. Nunez Technical Institute and St. Bernard Parish Community College, and as a result offers vocational and academic programs, unusual for the state. The school was damaged in 2005 due to the arrival of Hurricane Katrina, but was able to resume operation in 2006.
Academics
Nunez Community College offers comprehensive education opportunities through programs that allow for academic transfer or vocational training. Academic transfer programs offer an education that mirrors the first two years of a four year education, followed by transfer to a four year institution to continue that education and earn a bachelor's degree.
