About
Oxnard College, located in Oxnard, California, was founded in 1975 to serve the cities of Oxnard, Camarillo, and Port Hueneme. The school's proximity to Navy Base Ventura County has resulted in increased enrollment from military personnel. The school is known for its dental hygienist program, consistently ranked among the best in the United States.  The school is dedicated to providing top quality services and education to its service area, and is one of the 110 schools that comprise the California Community College System.

Academics
Oxnard College offers a number of program that prepare students for career training or academic transfer.  Programs for academic transfer complete the first two years of a four year education. Once complete the student will transfer to a four year institution and complete their bachelor's degree. Individuals are advised to meet with a counselor and plan the curriculum that best fulfills the transfer requirements of the school or school's desired. Transfer to California public schools are facilitated by agreements in place that allow for ease of admission if certain prerequisites and requirements are met.

Programs for career training are designed to provide students the opportunity to pursue their goals through the development of the skills and abilities necessary to become professionals in a given field. Programs take between one and two years to complete, resulting in an associate degree or certificate that demonstrates competency and allows for employment immediately after graduation.

Admissions and Financial Aid
Oxnard College is a two year open enrollment institution, and as a result any student may enroll by submitting an application for admission. Students should supply test scores and transcripts, take the placement exam, participate in orientation and meet with a counselor prior to the registration of counselors. Tuition fees are due shortly after registration is complete.

Financial aid is available in the form of loans, grants and scholarships. Students in need of assistance must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is used to determine the student's need, eligibility and awards. Financial aid must be reapplied for prior to the start of each academic year. Students may be asked to provide financial documentation to the financial aid office prior to the disbursement of funds to ensure that information on the FAFSA is accurate.

Athletics
The Oxnard College Condors participate in intercollegiate athletics through the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) which govern competitions between California community colleges and allows for an environment of healthy competition. Participating students will develop skills and abilities such as good health, discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in addition to the camaraderie that comes with experiencing success and failure through the  pursuit of a goal alongside one's teammates. Athletic programs having different schedules, and as such interested students should contact the athletic department to obtain tryout dates and times as well as the required forms participation.
