About
Piedmont Community College, located in Roxboro, North Carolina, was founded in 1970 through overwhelming support by the local populace. The school began operations shortly after gaining approval, and was then known as Person County Technical Institute. Within the year the school's name was changed to Person Technical Institute, then once more to Piedmont technical Institute. In the subsequent years the school was approved through vote for additional monies in order to establish a permanent campus, which was completed in 1978. With the new campus came a new name, Piedmont Technical College. In 1985 the North Carolina General Assembly added Caswell County. The school's name was once again changed, this time to the current, and additional funds were issued for renovations and additions to the main campus as well as the establishing of a Caswell campus, located in Yanceyville.
