Jewelry Design Classes

The jewelry design program at Santa Fe Community College prepares students for careers in art and fashion, particularly designing and working in jewelry stores, and selling and repairing jewelry. The program focuses on the creative expression of emotions, ideas, or inner vision by fashioning art work from gems and precious metals. Program courses include: gemology, metal-smithing and finishing, stone cutting and polishing, metal and non-metal casting and molding, electroforming, metal coloring, enameling, photo etching, lapidary technique and art, and design concepts.
