Child Development Degree
The child development program at South Central College prepares students for careers in child care centers, special needs programs, in home care, family child care, school age care, preschools, and recreational programs. South Central College (SCC) is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association and has two main campuses, Faribault, MN, and North Mankato, MN, in addition to an online campus located at online.southcentral.edu.
SCC offers more than 50 Liberal Arts and Science majors in the following subjects:

- Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources
- Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technology
SCC’s Liberal Arts and Science programs allow for credits to be easily transferred to 4-year colleges or universities and can be completed in two years for full-time students. Certificate programs or those with a diploma may be completed in a shorter time period.
All applicants applying to SCC must have a high school diploma/GED or if an applicant has no diploma/GED, he or she should demonstrate potential for being a successful student.
